Meet the Team

The Heart Behind Maison de Molly

We’re a small-but-mighty team led by principal designer Molly Lucas. We’re based in Pittsburgh, PA and beyond. We believe good design is for everyone, because everyone has a story they want to tell!

We intentionally avoid being boxed into a specific style—whether it’s modern, rustic, colorful, or minimalist. The heart of Maison de Molly is versatility and adaptability, ensuring that each project feels authentic and distinct. We don’t just *do* one thing—we do it all, tailored to you.

Design is deeply personal, and we want to bring people along on the journey, from the first spark of inspiration to the final reveal. These stories aren’t just about beautiful spaces, but about the people who live, work, and celebrate in them. At the core of everything we do is a commitment to connection, creativity, and crafting spaces that feel as unique as the lives lived within them.

Molly Lucas

Founder & Principal Designer

For Molly, great design starts with strong relationships. Long before she founded Maison de Molly, her passion for design was rooted in how spaces made people feel. Growing up, she was fascinated by the small details that brought people together—how a cozy living room with a crackling fireplace made guests linger a little longer or how the smell of fresh cookies in a cheerful kitchen instantly made a house feel like home. She didn’t have the words for it then, but she understood the impact of spaces on mood and memory. She realized early on that while design sets the stage, it’s the people—the hosts, the conversations, the moments—that give a space its soul. That’s what makes a space truly noteworthy—when design becomes a backdrop for connection, belonging, and moments that stick with us long after we’ve left the room.

This passion led Molly to pursue a BA in Interior Architecture from Chatham University, where she combined her creative eye with technical skills to design spaces that are both beautiful and functional. Her approach has always been about more than just aesthetics—it’s about designing spaces that people actually want to live, work, and gather in.

Molly’s commitment to the design community has been a driving force throughout her career. She joined the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as a college student and quickly became an active member of the local design scene. Her dedication led her from student member to professional board member, eventually becoming the youngest president her local chapter has ever had. This leadership role not only expanded her industry knowledge but also built her reputation as a hardworking, community-focused designer.

At Maison de Molly, collaboration remains at the core of everything Molly does. She offers full-service interior design, from 2D CAD floor plans and 3D renderings to sourcing, project management, and marketing for luxury rentals and event spaces. She also provides technical asset creation for other designers, promoting a “collaboration over competition” approach that supports the broader design community.

Molly focuses on creating spaces that reflect the people who use them—thoughtful, functional, and deeply personal. She prioritizes timeless design over fleeting trends and believes that the most meaningful spaces are those that foster connection and belonging.

Because in the end, it’s not just about the room—it’s about how people live, gather, and make memories within it.

Our Vision and Values

In all our designs, we blend creativity + functionality, transforming spaces to enhance the quality of life for our clients.

We are:

  1. Client-Centric — We ensure that every project is tailored to your unique vision and lifestyle.

  2. Creative — We embrace innovation by continually exploring new ideas and techniques.

  3. Collaborative — We believe in the power of teamwork.

  4. Candid — We build trust and long-lasting relationships through honesty, accountability, and transparency.

  5. Considerate — We are dedicated to sustainable, responsible, and eco-friendly design practices. We give back 10% of our profits to charity through Children’s Rescue Initiative.

Maison de Molly is dedicated to crafting spaces that bring comfort, beauty, and joy. But we recognize that for many, a safe and nurturing environment is not a given—it’s an unimaginable luxury. Countless individuals, including children, are forced into labor or left without even the simplest necessities, like a place to sleep. That’s why we’ve partnered with The Children’s Rescue Initiative to help rescue and restore the lives of those trapped in modern slavery. Our logo, the ginkgo leaf, is a symbol of hope, resilience, and endurance—qualities that survivors must embody as they fight for freedom, and qualities that resonate with our team. Through this partnership, we aim to extend the impact of thoughtful design beyond interiors, working toward a world where everyone has the dignity of a safe and secure environment.
